About Us

Skyland Arts Foundation is building a central hub for arts and culture across the greater Lake Arrowhead region.

“Skyland” is the connected mountain communities spanning Crestline, Twin Peaks, Lake Arrowhead, Blue Jay, and Green Valley Lake — a 25-mile stretch known for its natural beauty, independence, and long-standing creative undercurrent.

This region has always attracted people who want something different. More space. More quiet. More freedom to make things on their own terms. From working artists to small businesses to seasonal residents, Skyland is made up of people who choose to be here — and shape what it becomes.

Skyland is also a destination. A place people return to — weekends, seasons, years at a time. We see the arts as a way to deepen that experience — creating meaningful ways for people to gather, explore, and connect while they’re here.

Our Mission

Our mission is to strengthen and elevate the arts across the Skyland region. We support artists, expand access, and create opportunities for connection and growth, building a creative community that is both inclusive and exceptional.

Our Vision

We see Skyland as a place where arts, culture, and heritage are essential to everyday life.

A place where:

  • Creativity is accessible to all
  • Artists are supported and celebrated
  • Cultural experiences feel homegrown, embedded in the community, not added on

Our Perspective

We believe that when we prioritize the arts, we elevate everything — education, well-being, connection, and the region’s identity itself.

We are here for the next era of arts and artists in Skyland.

Our Guiding Principles

The arts connect people, create understanding, and shape culture in real ways

Art doesn’t have a single definition — we support a wide range of expression and interpretation

Creativity exists in everyone, and deserves space to develop

Every artist’s path is different — we respect both the process and the outcome

We strive to create environments where people can take risks, collaborate, and grow

Inclusivity and respect are foundational — not optional

Sharing resources strengthens both artists and the communities they’re part of

Long-term relationships and sustainability matter more than short-term wins

We lead with integrity, openness, and accountability

We are always learning, evolving, and refining what we build

Great work can come from anywhere — and we hold ourselves to a standard of excellence that reflects the very best of the arts, regardless of geography

We respect each individual’s artistic voice and process
