Inside the hall on Lake Drive today: a long open room with wood walls and a lit window at the far end

The Space

A hall with room for everything.

This is the space today.

The hall today

Picture it

How it could look.

Early concept renderings to help picture the room in use: a film night, a concert, an art class, a holiday party. They are sketches, not final plans.

Concept renderings. The final design will change.

One room, two modes

A theater at the push of a button. An open floor at the next.

Telescoping seats fold the whole room in or out. Rows rise up for a film or a show, with a full screen and sound system. Then they slide back and stack against the wall, and the floor is clear for a market, a dance or a dinner.

The kind of telescoping seating we're planning. It goes from seated venue to open floor in about 30 minutes.

Tap the button or the drawing to switch modes. It takes about 30 minutes in real life.

Built for lasting experiences.

Film

A micro movie theater, reimagined.

New releases, classic double features, film festivals and local premieres in a small, comfortable cinema, with real popcorn and a nod to this building's movie-house past. And it's a phone-free room: no texting, no filming, just the movie. It's a rule we'll hold onto kindly and firmly.

On stage

A stage for everything.

Dance, theater, stand-up, live podcasts, panels and talks. If it needs a stage and an audience, it has a home here.

Music

Live music, up close.

Concerts, candlelit quartets, singer-songwriters, DJ nights and dance parties.

Immersive art

Art you can step into.

Hands-on, interactive experiences like paint-throw parties, glowing light installations and pop-up art nights. Come ready to make a mess, and make a scene. Out front, the lobby doubles as a rotating gallery for local artists, with opening-night parties where you can meet them and take a piece home.

Food and drink

Good food, good company.

Chef dinners, cooking classes, wine and beer tastings, cocktail parties and casual community suppers. From laid-back to dressed-up.

Markets and fairs

Shop local, all year.

A warm, dry winter home for the farmers market when the outdoor season ends, plus holiday markets, craft and makers' fairs, artist markets, vintage and flea markets, night markets and plant swaps, where local makers and growers can sell their work.

Make and celebrate

Classes, studios and parties.

Workshops, photo shoots, line dancing and disco nights, Halloween parties, Oktoberfest, holiday nights and celebrations of every kind.
